After a few years of break, and at the suggestion of numerous fans, the sound of jazz was heard again at the festival "Mokranjac's days" at the concert, among the jazz musicians of the extremely popular, "Vladimir Maricic trio".
For jazz music lovers, Vladimir Maricic's trio performed part of its rich and diverse repertoire. Vladimir Maricic is known to the general public for his idea of combining jazz and folk tradition. The concert in Negotin began with his compositions: "my Waltz", "Little Girl" and "Sonet" and "Senora". It was followed by a cover of Dragiša Nedović's song "Stani, Stani Ibar vodo". Festival 59. "Mokranjac days "had the opportunity to hear Maricic's composition" canvas", inspired by the motifs from the 8th century. and 10. Mokranjac's handwriting, and then "Bolero Negotino", a composition that became a recognizable motif in EPS programs, gaining the status of the standard of Serbian Jazz
The program then featured compositions "Socerdan"and " Bembasha". The festival audience welcomed the famous jazz trio, who performed the traditional "Žika Kolo" in jazz arrangement by Vlado Maričić.

One of our most creative jazz authors, Vladimir Maricic (1965) started his professional career in 1988. the year he joined the quintet Lazar Tosic. He spent two years in London leading an international trio and performing at local jazz clubs (606, Jazz Caffe, HQ Camden). It debuted in 1990. year with the album Ornaments accompanied by domestic and foreign rhythm section. At that time he had already hinted, and in his later career developed ideas of mixing jazz and folk traditions. The year 1994. he released his second album, The Pagan trilogy, in 1998. it was followed by the album Ritual, even more turned to tradition. The year 2000. he publishes music from the stage play The Pianist, with original compositions, in quintet, with his trio and the brass section of the big band The Arts. On his next album Old Dreams-New Friends (2001) he collaborated with renowned jazz musicians Alvin Queen (drums) and Reggie Johnson (bass), and in 2003. he recorded an album called Prelo with the orchestra of St. George's strings.
Later, Maricic would add to his expression an interest in Roma music and Cuban rhythms, which was best represented on the album Romano – Cubano (with Bata Božanic, Petar Radmilovic, Lazar Del Toro Vega and Ljubisa Stojanovic Luis). The following albums: the Streets of Balkan (with Bata Božanić, Petar Radmilović, Lazar Del Toro Vega, Ljubiša Paunić, Goran Potić, Vlado Gagić and the ArtStrings quartet) and Magija koja ne cetiću with Tanja Jovićević and the Magic Sound Orchestra.
Maricic has performed in Austria, Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain, Greece and Romania, and among numerous performances at domestic and international festivals are: ZG Jazz Fair (1988), Belgrade Jazz Festival (1990), Athens (1996), Munich (1996), Timisoara (2000), Paris Jazzy Colours Festival (2006), solo concert accompanied by Big Band Jazz Studio Orchestra (Bari, 2009), solo concert in the House of trade unions (2011), Valjevo Jazz Festival (2015), as well as concert of autorska muzika 26. October 2016 when with his band and special guest, one of the best trumpeters in the world Brian Lynch (USA) opened 32. Belgrade Jazz Festival. The recording of this concert was released on Multimedia music's Rain Dance LIVE in March 2019. years. In the same year, the Vladimir Maričić quartet performed at the Semana Jazz festival on Tenerife, held a concert in KIC Serbia in Paris, within the International Jazzy Colours Festival, as well as in Banski Dvor in Banja Luka, while in December 2020. he played in front of a 36-year-old audience. Belgrade Jazz Festival. In June 2021. an album called Ibar was released by PGP EPS.
