Italian guitarist Alberto Mezirka at 59. The mokranjac days
CHERUBIM SONG ON GUITAR AT ALBERT MESIRKA CONCERT
Thanks to the cooperation of the Cultural Center "Stevan Mokranjac" with the Italian Institute of culture from Belgrade, for the festival audience 59. In the days of mokranjac, a gift concert was organized in Negotin by the celebrated Italian classical guitarist Alberto Mezirka.
In the foyer of the Cultural Center "Stevan Mokranjac" in Negotin, filled to the last place, Italian guitar master Alberto Mezirka delighted the negotin audience with a masterful performance of works by Serbian and world composers.
It was a unique opportunity for guitar lovers to hear that in the performance of a great guitarist, Mokranjac's "Cheruvim song" in the artistic treatment of Marko Radojković sounds. The young Italian guitarist also performed compositions by Vlastimir Trajković, Isidora Žebeljan and Veljko Nenadić. The program of the concert included works by Francesco de Milan, Domenico Scarlatti, Angelo Giraldino, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, as well as sonatas for guitar by Spanish composer Antonio José.
- For the first time tonight, I performed Mokranjac in the art work of Marko Radojković, on the recommendation of my colleague Raško Radović and I am delighted. This was an opportunity to get closer to the Serbian music that I greatly appreciate. My colleague Dusan Bogdanovic pointed to the Serbian authors, which resulted in my recording a CD with the works of Serbian composers at the end of last year-said Alberto Mezirka.
Italian classical guitarist Alberto Mezirka (1984) graduated and obtained his master's degree from the Conservatory
in Castelfranco Veneto, after which he continued his studies at the Academy of music in Kassel, Germany. As a chamber musician he has collaborated with many famous performers including Dimitri Ashkenazi, Vladimir Mendelsson, Daniel Rowland, Priya Mitchell, Marcelo Nisinman, as well as with string quartets Enesco, Ardeo and Acies, Quarteto d'archi di Venezia and the EX Novo ensemble.
During his career he also made a number of studio recordings. The year 2007. his album " Iconostas "won at the International Guitar convention in Alexandria in the category"Best Recording". He won the same award in 2013. for the album "British music for guitar" which he created in collaboration with the cellist Martin Rumel. Year 2020. he won a prestigious award from Gramofon magazine in the category of best conceptual album.
