In the complex of Mokranjac's birth house, in the building with the entrance from the central city zone, Negotin got a new, representative cultural space – The Art Salon of the Cultural House "Stevan Mokranjac".

In the heart of the city, The Art Salon became available to the public immediately after the opening ceremony of the 59th. Wet days. As a new cultural hub of Negotin, it will have a significant role in promoting art and preserving the cultural identity of our city.

At the opening ceremony of this space, the audience saw the first in a series, The Exhibition of Native artists Negotin, which symbolically begins its mission to support Krajina creators and their presentation to the public.

The interior decoration of The Art Salon was made possible by The Elixir Foundation and the Stevan Mokranjac Cultural Center. The Art Salon of the Cultural Center "Stevan Mokranjac" was opened by Margareta Musić, director of the Elixir Foundation.

– Еликсир Фондација је с радошћу подржала иницијативу Дома културе за реконструкцију овог простора, као партнер заједнице, пријатељ културе, уметности, деце и младих, добар комшија својим суграђанима. Стваралаштво неготинских уметника подарило је нови живот овом простору на чему сам им захвална. Овај Ликовни салон завичајних стваралаца повезао је различите уметничке рукописе, времена, промишљања и енергије. Верујем да ће ово постати још једно место окупљања на културној мапи Неготина које ће испунити погледе посетилаца најлепшим доживљајем Крајине и Неготина. Уметницима желим хоризонт испуњен светлошћу која ће бити ново надахнуће и обасјати време пред нама – јер, како кажу, Арг Лонга, Вита Бревис! – поручила је Маргарета Мусић, управитељка Еликсир Фондације.

This gallery, designed as an exhibition space, will also be a place of meetings, workshops, lectures and educational programs for children and youth, providing young artists with an incentive for development and direction.
