Niš Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Zoran Stanisavljevic and young, extremely talented cellist, Petar Pejcic, who is rightly considered one of the most promising artists of his generation, closed in Negotin a festival dedicated to the most important Serbian composer Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac, 58. "Wet days".
Др Соња Маринковић, селекторка Фестивала овако је у завршној речи говорила о једној од најзначајнијих музичких манифестација у Србији:
"I think this festival will be remembered for the really great artists who brought us incredibly strong, deep experiences. We started with singing four excellent choirs, Negotin people are satisfied, the local choir won deservedly with many reasons. In addition to those four choirs, four other choral ensembles performed. We had festivals when there were more, but success is not measured by numbers, but by what the choirs brought. Let me, first of all, single out that wonderful children's Choir Of The Opera of the Serbian National Theatre from Novi Sad, which has won the hearts of everyone in the Hall. It's really amazing in this country that after many, many years we have a top ensemble again. We raised the name of Stevan Mokranjac, paid due attention to Serbian composers, enjoyed an opera performance by contemporary composer Vera Milankovic. In the last two evenings, we had a special pleasure to welcome two top ensembles, St. George's strings and the Niš Symphony Orchestra. They brought us some new energy, presented us with a great star, a future star and a present star of world scenes, Petar Pejcic, and I think that we can really remember these "Mokranjac days" for many things, looking forward to what will come. We are already thinking about what will be 59. especially 60. "Wet days". Music celebrated, we celebrated Stevan Mokranjac's name and may it be so for many, many years to come.“
58 this year. The festival "Mokranjac days" was officially declared closed by Vladimir Veličković, the president of the Negotin municipality, who in his address to the participants and the audience pointed out that we should be proud of all realized festival programs and especially citizens who were part of the festival.
"We must all be aware that we live in a time when it is not easy to organize an art music festival and that it is not easy to bring such content to a wider audience. We will try to cope with the temptations of this kind in the coming years and make the festival dedicated to composer Stevan Mokranjac more meaningful, visited and visible.“
Veličković thanked the participants of this year's festivities for their demonstrated skills and knowledge performances, as well as the Cultural Center "Stevan Mokranjac" and the program Commission "Mokranjac days", institutions and individuals for organizing the ceremony and emphasized:
"I thank the media sponsors and friends of the ceremony for their support. We extend special gratitude to the Ministry of culture and Minister Nikola Selakovic for their great support to the development of Culture in Negotin. During his recent visit to Negotin, Minister Selakovic, in addition to support in the preservation of cultural heritage, announced additional support to the festival. We will try to make the upcoming festivals a step forward in the artistic concept and energy that will ensure the durability of the Mokranjac days. This is our joint task, which, with the support of the profession and you dear fellow citizens, we will accomplish.“
