In honor of the great composer of Negotin and Serbia, Stevan St. Mokranjac, on September 13, 2025, starting at 6 p.m., the 59th Days of Mokranjac will be traditionally and ceremoniously opened in the complex of his birthplace.

In the presence of numerous guests from home and abroad, admirers of the timeless work of the founder of choral singing in Serbia, the creator of the national style in 19th-century music, an oration will be given by Prof. Dimitrije Golemović, D.A., ethnomusicologist and composer.

The opening ceremony of the 59th Days of Mokranjac will traditionally be rounded off with a joint performance by the choirs participating in the Choir competition and Negotin ensembles, with conductor Vera Carina and a thunderous performance of Mokranjac’s Sixth Garland.
