EXHIBITION
Sixty Years of Days of Mokranjac
Memory Through the Lens
On the occasion of the jubilee, 60th Days of Mokranjac, a photo exhibition will be presented in the foyer of the Cultural centre, preserving the memory of decades of festival life. From the first encounter with music, artists and the audience, to the present day, the photographs record the faces, moments and atmosphere of events that have shaped the identity of the festival year after year. Placed as a kind of visual timeline, the photographs take visitors back to the concert podiums and halls, among the performers and the audience, to meetings between artists, festive moments and spontaneous scenes that often remained outside the main flow of the program. Each photograph represents a small record of a time, but also part of a broader story about the festival that has been gathering artists, experts and music lovers in Negotin for six decades. This exhibition is not just a review of the festivals past. It is a call to remembrance – to the people who, with their work, art and presence, left their mark on the history of Days of Mokranjac, to the generations of the audience who experienced and built the festival together with its organizers and participants. In the encounter with the photographs, past events regain their moment, and memories become part of the current festival experience.
In the year of the great anniversary, a look back is at the same time a look forward. Sixty years of Days of Mokranjac have been gathered into count-less encounters, sounds, faces and memories. This exhibition preserves only a part of that rich heritage, reminding us that the history of this festival, apart from the program and archival records, is made up primarily of people and moments that are worth preserving from oblivion.
