Always dear festival guests, the Academic Cultural Art Society "Ivo Lola Ribar "from Belgrade with soloists and String Quartet" Iris", under the conducting leadership of Maestro Milovan Pancic, organized a large concert entitled" Mokranjac and Mozart "at the Cultural Center"Stevan Mokranjac".
Academics from "Lola" with soloists Ana Tomić (soprano), Nenad Nenić (baritone) and Petar Toskov on the piano accompanied by String Quartet "Iris", in their own way, through the most recognizable spiritual repertoire brought together two musical greats, Mozart and Mokranjac, but also other composers of spiritual music.
Festival 59. In mokranjac's days, she was able to hear a superb performance of excerpts from Mozart's Requiem, then the Spiritual Songs of the composer" Our Father "N. N. Kedrov, " the body of Christ" by M. Govedarica, "the Virgin Mary" by S. Rachmaninoff, "Vo tsarstvii Tvojem" by D. Hristov and "Lord, Have mercy on us!"M. A. Rasinsky. In the continuation of the concert on the program are excerpts from the Mokranjac Liturgy, Svjat and Tebe pojem, and then parts from II, IV and X rukoveti. According to the reactions of the audience that rewarded the performers with warm applause and ovations, at the end of the concert, it was obvious that the Negotins and their guests wished for "Lole" and their charismatic maestro Pancic.
- Rukovets are the highest degree of stylization, something that has come out of the people, signifying its character and spirit. Mokranjac chose songs that were organically inserted into each hand, he chose according to the text, character, melody, all the peculiarities that characterize the Serbian people. No one has that. The AKUD choir "Ivo Lola Ribar" was founded on 16. November 1944. years. During the decades of successful work, close to 9000 singers have passed through this ensemble, among them a number of artists who later achieved top international musical careers. Taking part in domestic and international competitions and festivals, the choir has won a large number of plaques, charters, first prizes and awards for quality, becoming not only a cultural center that gathers young and creative people, but also a prestigious national institution. The choir was also the winner of the first" singing "at the" Mokranjac days " in Negotin in 1974. as well as" singing "in 2010, he won first place in the BBC" Let the people sing " World competition in London in 1975. and Gran-PRI at the international competition in Varna (Bulgaria) in 1987. year
The year 1978. as an artistic director and conductor, Milovan Pančić came to the helm of the choir, who is in that position, with minor breaks, to this day. His refined aesthetic sense and the power of creative skill, along with his aptitude for technical perfection, contributed to the sophisticated interpretation of works of choral art, but also to the fact that the most valuable prizes were won with him.
String quartet "Iris" consists of students of the Faculty of music in Belgrade: Kristina Bojić and Sofija Marković (violin), Đurđa Tomić (Viola) and Anđelina Rujević (cello). All members of the ensemble are currently in the third year of basic academic studies. This composition, created in 2025. through cooperation with the AKUD Choir "Ivo Lola Ribar", the aim is to affirm and bring classical music closer, but also to merge modern and traditional sound, through the prism of the spirit of youth.
