The crowning glory of the Days of Mokranjac Festival, the Choir competition is traditionally on the program of the first evening of the festival. This year’s Choir competition has a distinctly international dimension, and the festival audience will enjoy performances by five top foreign choirs and one domestic one.

The following choirs will be competing for the prestigious Stevan Mokranjac Statuette award: Vox Mirabilis chamber choir (Hungary) with conductor Katica Zemlenyi, the Planina pri Sevnici male choir (Slovenia) led by Matej Romih, the Hauka Dekorum female choir (Norway) conducted by Svetlana Krstić Aksnes, the Serbian singers’ association Jedinstvo (Republika Srpska) with conductor Nemanja Savić, the Saint Sava choir (Austria) led by Iva Mrvoš Anokić, and the Pančevo Serbian church choral society with Vera Carina.

According to the competition’s regulations, all choirs will present a program lasting up to 20 minutes with the obligation to perform one piece by composer Stevan Mokranjac of their choice.
