After a few years of break, and at the suggestion of numerous fans, the sound of jazz was heard again at the festival "Mokranjac's days" at the concert, among the jazz musicians of the extremely popular, "Vladimir Maricic trio".<\/div>\n

For jazz music lovers, Vladimir Maricic's trio performed part of its rich and diverse repertoire. Vladimir Maricic is known to the general public for his idea of combining jazz and folk tradition. The concert in Negotin began with his compositions: "my Waltz", "Little Girl" and "Sonet" and "Senora". It was followed by a cover of Dragi\u0161a Nedovi\u0107's song "Stani, Stani Ibar vodo". Festival 59. "Mokranjac days "had the opportunity to hear Maricic's composition" canvas", inspired by the motifs from the 8th century. and 10. Mokranjac's handwriting, and then "Bolero Negotino", a composition that became a recognizable motif in EPS programs, gaining the status of the standard of Serbian Jazz<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

One of our most creative jazz authors, Vladimir Maricic (1965) started his professional career in 1988. the year he joined the quintet Lazar Tosic. He spent two years in London leading an international trio and performing at local jazz clubs (606, Jazz Caffe, HQ Camden). It debuted in 1990. year with the album Ornaments accompanied by domestic and foreign rhythm section. At that time he had already hinted, and in his later career developed ideas of mixing jazz and folk traditions. The year 1994. he released his second album, The Pagan trilogy, in 1998. it was followed by the album Ritual, even more turned to tradition. The year 2000. he publishes music from the stage play The Pianist, with original compositions, in quintet, with his trio and the brass section of the big band The Arts. On his next album Old Dreams-New Friends (2001) he collaborated with renowned jazz musicians Alvin Queen (drums) and Reggie Johnson (bass), and in 2003. he recorded an album called Prelo with the orchestra of St. George's strings.<\/div>\n
