In honor of the great composer of Negotin and Serbia, Stevan St. Mokranjac, on September 13, 2025, starting at 6 p.m., the 59th Days of Mokranjac will be traditionally and ceremoniously opened in the complex of his birthplace.<\/p>\r\n

In the presence of numerous guests from home and abroad, admirers of the timeless work of the founder of choral singing in Serbia, the creator of the national style in 19th-century music, an oration will be given by Prof. Dimitrije Golemovi\u0107, D.A., ethnomusicologist and composer.<\/p>\r\n

The opening ceremony of the 59th Days of Mokranjac<\/em> will traditionally be rounded off with a joint performance by the choirs participating in the Choir competition and Negotin ensembles, with conductor Vera Carina and a thunderous performance of Mokranjac\u2019s Sixth Garland.<\/p>\r\n
